Internet Explorer is totally out of the question. I repeat, DO NOT USE Internet Explorer to view this blog. Otherwise, serious damage will occur to your computer, with all those virus and ads and spyware stuff, wiping out your entire hard disk and making it unformattable no matter how hard you try. (Actually it will only make my blog look bad... REALLY BAD...) As a matter of fact, Support Firefox, Ditch IE. You'll never need any other browser to surf the net ever! p/s Please note that if you're using IE, the buttons such as profile, chat, links and credits will not work. You won't be able to see the clock, view the results of my ballot box properly, and the alignments of objects are all out. Try using Firefox and See The Difference!(another one of our slogans for our Support Firefox, Ditch IE campaign)
the day had arrived. 24 teams pitting against each other to claim the top prize of RM750 with jerseys and medals and a trophy. Seeing the other teams, i really thought we would not even make it to the second round... first group match, Phantom Ace vs Ilham FC, we won 2-0. First goal scored by a Siong Chin on a set piece free kick. A real thunderous blast heading for the top right corner left the keeper wondering what just went past him. Second goal came in the second half when Nicholas, another playmaker, shot in a cracker from just over the middle line. With three points in the bag, i was substituted in as a central defender and at one time cleared a shot off the line with my belly....huh... final whistle. my left ankle is still a bit numb but my knee is feeling great already. Second match, vs Blue Thunder who beat Ilham FC by 4 goals to nil. that means both Phantom Ace and Blue Thunder advance to second round. all we had to do was just play like a friendly. But that wasn't the case, as they beat us 2-0. Not even with three men in defense, including yours truly, could stop their attack. Nevertheless, we qualified for the second round. Next and final match for my team, vs Ketupat. Really fast paced team trashing and pummeling us 4-1. we knew we couldn't beat them so all of us went Gung-Ho and left a gaping hole in defense. thus, the goal glut. I played as striker and scored one but surely just a consolation goal as we were trailing 3-1 by the time i scored my goal and playing time was ticking away. A great match nonetheless...gave my all, out of breath after the match. i came to realise that we're just not quite there yet and needed to practise more and harder if we are to be a force to be reckoned with in OUG and Kuchai hahaha! Great experience, i thought we would have gone out in the group stage...though our target was to reach the quarter finals, but second round seemed more realistic after seeing the quality of the other players in the tourney. I really like to thank God for giving me the oppurtunity to play even after picking up an injury yesterday. my teamates, you guys were great! And thank YOU, for giving me the support and courage to play despite my injury and when i was feeling so down yesterday. somehow i feel like i have let you down, as i thought I could actually do better. well football is a team game, we can't win with one player. unless he's a shaolin footballer or superman haha! Now that this tourney is over, i'm looking forward to the next one and hope you will be there to give the support! Football and Man Utd forever!
take care, god bless ya
